On May 3, the voters in our community will consider the renewal of an existing millage that is vital to the future of our schools. If passed, this renewal will provide approximately $35 million in funding to upgrade and enhance facilities across our entire school system. These projects represent a bold investment in both our students and our community.
Major upgrades and improvements will be seen at each of the CCSS schools. Specifically for Central High School:
In addition to the new Fine Arts Wing (renderings of potential new facilities in Mrs. Atkinson’s post), we will:
– Repurpose space to expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities
– Upgrade the baseball complex with a new grandstand, press box, concessions, and bathrooms
– Rework the track and practice field area to improve and increase the amount of practice space available on campus
– Renovate the courtyard between the main building and STEM Academy to include green space and outdoor learning areas
***This is a RENEWAL, NOT a new tax! If approved, funding will be provided as proposed. If denied, tax assessments will not decrease in the near future. Instead, the rate will remain until the current bond and millage matures.*** This is an investment in our commUNITY! … See MoreSee Less
